One More Step Forward

Vinod Kumar and Reddy Prasad, siblings, are in 10th and 9th Standards of Arogya Matha School. Its very sad to know that their father passed away recently and her mother left them and fled (for reasons known best to her). They are now staying with their grandparents.

Luckily the school management somehow came to know about our team "REVOLUTIONS" and enquired if someone from us could help them with their school fees.Hitendra, who was a old student from that school came forward to help them when he heard of this. This Saturday we went to school and paid the fees for the complete year, The kids were so happy to hear this.

Probably next week, we are planning to meet the kids one more time and decided to tell them that we will sponsor for their next year academics as well if they do well in their exams this year.

Would like to thank Hitendra who came forward to help these kids as soon as we approached.

Update on Velu's (Accident Victim)

Got to speak to Velu today. As of now the operation seems to have gone very well and he was informed that he will be able to walk with some support after 40 days of complete rest.In another 2 days he will get discharged from the hospital and was very good to see him smiling again after many days when the doctor said he can drive again in another 3 months.

Thank you all again for your support

Update: We met Velu over the weekend and he is recovering well and fast. We helped him with another 3000/- (sponsored by Sunil and Jayanth) for his travelling. He will be coming to chennai next for a review and would probably start walking with some support by then.

Sponsor for Physically Challenged Kids

Hi All,

A new school for Physically Challenged (Dumb & Deaf) is started in side the AMC (Arogyavaram Medical Center). Currently there are 10 kids studying in the school and AMC is currently bearing all the expenses of these kids and are looking for a sponsor.

Someone who is interested can adopt a child. At present it will cost you 1000 rs/month which will include the food and schooling expenses of the adopted child and will decrease later on when the number of kids increase in the school.

Please write to us at ourrevolutions@gmail.com in case you need to know more details or incase you want to visit them in person which will help you select the kids easily.

Update:  Hitendra and Siddarth wanted to sponsor  5 kids, buy the time we contacted them,  they already had someone to sponsor (thankfully). We will try to sponsor incase more students join the school.

"Our Revolutions" turns ONE today.

Hi Team,

Happy Independence day!!!

It gives us a great pleasure to mark the first anniversary of Our Revolutions with this day (August 15th). In fact our Independence week have certainly left us some emotional experience as we were able to help an accident victim in time.

A glance on the accomplishments that we had in this span of 1 year:

  • Annual tuition fees for the 10 poor school students.
  • Printer donation to Velugu school at Madanapalle.
  • Food distribution drive at Velugu school at Madanapalle.
  • School uniforms distribution to 15 students at Punganur.
  • Financial aid for medical camp which was organized by Cheyutha at Tirupathi.
  • Financial aid for Velu, an accident victim.

Needless to say that all the small contributions we made for the past one year, have added a ray of hope to the needy in different ocassions. Congratulations to every one of our team on providing a constant support and trying their best to succeed in all activities there by proving our motto "Serve the needy in all the ways we can".

A special thanks to Diwakar and Bhaskar of our team in coordinating these activities smoothly and providing an excellent chance for us in doing the same.

Well done Team. We are looking forward for continued support to run "Our Revolutions" much more efficiently.

All the Best.

Keep watching for the next post to know our upcoming events and the new team of "Our Revolutions".

Thank You and Update on the Accident Victim

Hi All,

Would like to start with a big "Thank You" note to all who responded with their contributions for Velu, given the very short notice. We feel in all ways this is THE BEST help we did although its not possible to compare various events. The reason we say best is because of the situation when we chipped in and also for the fact that the victim was (is) the sole bread earner for the entire family.

Yesterday (13-Aug-08), We met Velu & his family in the hospital and handed over the cash of Rs. 10,000 /-. He was a bit reluctant to take the amount given the fact that he takes a lot of pride in using his own money for his family. This guy, whom we have never seen crying even when he met with this accident or during the first operation where he was joking and cheering up others. But with the second fracture (Due to the unsuccessful operation ??) to his thigh he brokedown heavily and has not stopped crying for the past 3 days as he understood that he cant drive (Earn) atleast for the next six months which will be a huge blow to his family. He was also asking us about the time frame to repay the amount. We were sort of successful in making him convince him not to pay this money back and asked him to help someone with that amount through REVOLUTIONS. ( Yes, he too is a part of this REVOLUTIONS now) as and when he starts earning again.

He was very happy(to the fact that someone is helping him) to speak to some of our REVOLUTIONS members even though he never met them in person.

Will keep you all updated on his health as soon as I get to know them.

Please let us know or leave a comment if there are any better ideas of using this money.

Thanks again.

Fee for Second Term, Firstyear

The Fee for the second term of the first year was paid with which we have successfully completed the first year.
Like to thank all the sponsors who made this possible and wish you will continue the same.
You will shortly receive the report cards of your students and a handwritten thankyou note for your contributions from the students.

This year we are trying to increase the number of students as much as we can. In doing so we are seeking help from few people who are trying to get us the list of the drop outs from various schools this year which also will have the reason for leaving. Using this we are trying to pick few good students so that they can continue.

Apart from the aforementioned details we are also working on few things to see if we can try them and succeed. We will keep posting all the things we do and will continue to wait for your suggestions and improvements as always.

Probably some of you who come across such students this year can write to us at ourrevolutions@gmail.com so that we can help them.

Regards,
Team Revolutions.

Please let us know your views to ourrevolutions@gmail.com or contact bhaskar @ +91 98867 70051 for any suggestions or queries.

I wish this will also be a success.

mangalam,tpt.

We came to know this through sunil from the cheyoothasociety who got the information from dr. santhosh that several street children from that poor home suffering from skin diseases, we funded them to buy the medicines, ointments, some health oils suggested by Dr. santhosh and Dr. Narendra Ms.Ortho and helped the cheyoothasociety in a small way possible to make this camp a success.

Also like to thank kishore and Bhaskar for their donations and sunil for doing a great job constantly for so long.

Thought for the day

Social service should not become show-cial work (!) carried out for publicity or with the camera in view. Nor should it become slow-cial(!) work. Why go slow, when you are doing good to the deserving? Do as much as you can, as quickly as you can. If you cannot do any good, at least desist from doing harm; or from finding fault with those who serve you. Know that service is a better form of sadhana (spiritual effort) than even dhyaana (meditation). How can God appreciate the meditation you do, when adjacent to you, is someone in agony, whom you do not treat kindly, for whom you do not make all efforts to help?
Hands that serve are holier than lips that pray

Republicday Event

Hi,

Good to hear that the Republicday event went on better than the actual plan.

Cant stop thanking Bhaskar and Shakeer for their time and for the way they have organized everything.

It was organized at BASAVA RAJA Govt High School, Punganur, Chittor Dist, AP.
They started off with all the packets of clothes directly to the school and were well received by the school staff with Bhaskar and Shakeer being special guests.
As Head of institution requested , Bhaskar addressed the gathering on behalf of REVOLUTIONS in inspirational way. Finally School uniforms were distributed to Fifteen student who are poor and intelligent.

Happy to see the photos although i would have been more than happy if i were a part of this very good event.

We shall come up with a similar events every month along with the progress of the registration.

Thanks all for your support.
Also like to thank Suresh who as a old student of the same school, supported REVOLUTIONS by reducing the stitching fee by great amount.

Cheers,
Diwakar
