On a happy note, they have received some financial aid in time through our contributions and It was a great help indeed. Thank you all for the contributions made in time. Successful Flood Relief Camp

Hi All,

Thank You all for your responses for the flood relief activity we planned. Initially we planned to conduct the activity on 17th of October. Since many of you could transfer money after 17th, we postponed it to 26th of October based on the availability of the village heads where we decided to help.

As expected the response was overwhelming from many of you. We selected a village called K.Singavaram which is near Kothakota (35Kms from Kurnool). We had a lead from one of our friends in this village who helped us in identifying the correct families and also in helping us to distribute to each one of them correctly.

We discussed on various options but zeroed in on Woolen Blankets and Towels. There were 400 families in the village that required immediate help and we were requested to help all of them. Govt. gave them rice and other house holds items so we decided to distribute woolen blankets & Towels (also because it falls into our budget and more importantly because it was winter) to the 400 Families.

We bought 400 Woolen Blankets & 800 Towels in Kavali and divided them into 400 packets and transported them to K.Singavaram. Mr. Chinna Satyanarayana , helped us in collecting the ration cards of the families well before the distribution started helped us in issuing each pack based on the ration cards he had with him. This way every family got their pack.

Since this was a major event considering the budget, we combined with 2 similar organizations named Baasata (Read here)& Sphurthy who are doing an excellent job among themselves. They played an important role in collecting the money required to complete this Important event.Would like to take his opportunity to specially thank Revendranath from Basata & Praveen GR from Sphurthy.

The most challenging thing during the flood relief activity for any group is during distribution (Many organizations could not distribute to the right people because other village people started looting the vehicles midway). So would like to thank Venkat Babu, Mr. Ratna Prasad & Chinna Satyanarayana (Head of the Village) in helping us take the parcels safely from Kurnool.

A special thank you note to all the people who came forward with old clothes(many of them still new). we were told that many of the villages were not accepting old clothes so we did not take them with us. We have around 60-70 pairs of old clothes right now. We are still collecting them and waiting for a genuine opportunity to distribute them.Kindly let us know in case you find people who are in need of old clothes.

Special Thanks to Revendranath from Basata for organizing the entire event which took a lot of effort.

Time to Unite & Support the Flood affected

Hi All,

Please treat this as a little urgent and come forward in all the ways you can. In the wake of recent floods in AP and Karnataka, we are planning to help the victims through "Revolutions" in all the ways we can. As we know many People in Kurnool dist, AP are worst affected and have lost everything. Your trash can be some ones treasure. So we request you to donate what ever you can, like Old clothes (More Importantly Bedsheets), medicines, money etc. Also please forward this mail to people you know and help us to gather as much as we can through Revolutions. We have already discussed this with some of the key members in Spurthi foundation and planning to help the people in Kurnool through a Physical visit on 16th October.

Please go through the following and let us know if we can do any thing better.

How to donate clothes and medicines?
Please collect clothes from your friends, neighbors/all possible sources and send a mail to
Ourrevolutions@gmail.com/Grpraveenkumar@gmail.com with your address & number of clothes, if it is in Bangalore/Chennai/Madanapalli. If you have friends in other places who are willing to donate, please inform us so that we can plan to collect them as well through our network of friends.

How to contribute in funding for their relief activities?
You can send you contributions to the following account Bhaskar Sandra (A/C Number ICICI A/C No- 029701002755.) with a copy of the transaction email to ourrevolutions@gmail.com

How will the goods reach the needy ?
Few of our members are traveling to serve the affected villages on 17th Oct to distribute the collected goods the victims. Money will NOT be distributed directly but will be used to buy utensils and other necessities to the victims. As usual, a detailed account of income and expenditure will be shared to all the members.

In the first phase we decided to concentrate on one village called CHINNAMUDIYAM in Kurnool District. as one guy from that village is a colleague to one of our team members. He is trying to find out the people who are really affected and also preparing the list of things required to be donated. This way we feel that our Clothes/Medicine/Food Items are reaching the needy.

So request you all to help for this cause as much as you can.
Its time for us to show our humanity and support for the victims of the biggest natural calamity and we trust any little help from Revolutions team will make a Big difference for the needy.

Feel free to contact us on further queries (Mail Ids, Numbers). Also let us know if you want to visit along with us.

Many Thanks in Advance

Every moment was exciting for us as we were able to plant yet another Stem of Education in Our Revolutions tree. And the Success Spree continues....

To brief you the event, Its a govt. program about bringing back the drop outs to school and also to educate people in joining the kids to school. We decided to encourage all the new joinees with all the stationary required. Our team has reached the village "Balanayini palli" on 20-June-09 at 10 AM and received a warm welcome from School Management and Staff. Strength of around 100 students was present for the event. We have many more guests like MLA, ZPTC, MPP & MEO who attended the function on behalf of Education Board of Govt.

The program was initiated by Principal of Balanayini palli school explaining the importance of Education in every one's life and the encouragement that Revolutions team is providing for Education. After this, we had a good interaction with Staff over there and got to know the reasons behind the hampering in Education start up. The discussions we had with many parents were heart moving and they were very thankful for our concern towards their lives. Aksharabhyasam- A new platform for Revolutions

Hi All,

Here comes a new platform for Revolutions-"Aksharabhyasam". As the Academic year 2009-10 starts for the Children, Team Revolutions is geared up for a big event which helps many kids in their Education Startup.

We had a break for two months as we required some time for capturing the exact information and planning regarding this. Hence we needed an extra mile in converting our plans to on paper implementations and all set for this in a short time.

About Aksharabhyasam, is a program dedicated in encouraging every Child to know the value of their Education in their early stages. For this we have gathered information from reliable sources (Officers in charge for education for few Mandals - Luckily it was one of our members Father) in a few villages near MPL with which our initial estimation has strength of 450 children.

As a part of that, we decided to donated some basic needs like Slates, Notebooks, Stationary kits and School bags from Revolutions team to each and every student. We are confident that this is a quality time for gifting, Educating and sharing, to show how much we care for their Education. As they start their Academic year, let us donate some basic needs of Education to those who have not been as fortunate.

That's the event we have planned to start this academic year. All the time we were moving ahead with a great faith on the spirit and enthusiasm of our friends and so we were able to succeed in organizing these activities. We expect the same support from all of you.

So please do send us the feedback/queries/suggestions to Ourrevolutions@Gmail.com by End of this week (13-June-09) as we can start our preparations in the coming week.

Further interested members can send their contributions to the following A/C followed by an intimation mail.

Name: Bhaskar Sandra
ICICI A/C No- 029701002755.

Venue Details will be mailed soon.

We call for volunteers to spend some quality time with these children to know them, and let them know the importance of Education.
Let’s spread the Happy Learning in all the ways we can.

Thank you
Team Revolutions

Event @ Naren Rehabilitation, Madanapalli

Hi All,

We wish to update you on the recent activity of Revolutions. Last Sunday i.e. on 1st of Feb, We got the opportunity to visit Naren Rehab Center which is in Burma Road, Madanapalle. Naren Institute is an orphanage home which provides shelter for around 30 orphans and most of the kids in this are afflicted ones. It was good to know the services taken by Management of Naren Institute. But currently they are running short of funds and finding it a bit difficult to meet up there basic needs. As it was our unplanned visit, we have asked them to provide us the list of some urgent requirements with which we have sponsored them some Groceries for one month, Knickers cloth for 30 kids ( They said they have a tailor who will stitch it for free) and a Medicines.for Fits etc. for one month.

If anybody wants to contribute something towards Naren Rehab Center, please contact us on Bhaskar (09886770051)

Stay tuned for the update on future activities of "The Revolutions".

Thank you.

School Uniform Distribution Drive @ VidyaDeep, Madanapalle.

Hi All,

This time we got the opportunity to take up a “Clothes and Food Distribution Drive” @ VidyaDeep Orphanage, Madanapalle.

VidyaDeep is a Orphanage set up in madanapalle which takes care of around 40 orphans/mentally Challenged kids.We were so moved when we visited this school last time that we decided to donate school uniforms to the kids.

After finishing our Alumni meet on 27th Dec, we have planned for this Drive on 28-Dec-08. We gathered at the venue in the morning at 11:00 a.m. The kids and staff were keenly awaiting our arrival. As soon as we reached, we started our preparations in arranging the requirements. In a little time we have received our Honorable guests(Parents of some of our team members) for this occasion.

What made this drive even more special was the enthusiasm shown by the Kids who were interacting with us very actively. Our team had a good time with the kids who performed the activities like Playing, Dancing and singing. we were so shocked to see the kids singing all kinds of songs and few of them were so good at dancing.

The actual event started off with a prayer from the school children followed by the valuable speeches of our guests and then we distributed School Uniforms (Giving the very short duration to arrange, we couldnot get them stitched so we decided to donate the cloth on that day and will get them stitched later),Stationary (viz.. Pens,Pencils,Sharpners,Erasers & Sketch Pens), Chocolates & sponsored for Lunch soon after the function.

After a while we all had a lunch together with them. All in all, we can say this was a huge success and it wouldn’t have been the same without the tremendous support and enthusiasm of our team members.

Would like to take this oppurtunity to specially thank

  • Trilok for being the main sponsor
  • Mohan Reddy from 2001 Mechanical Batch (MITS), who came forward as soon as we contacted
  • Shakeer who donated the money his team won in a quiz event at his office.
  • Praveen who donated a used (Good Condition) washing machine
  • Siva who donated a sum of 1000/- to the school directly.
  • Vishnu who donated Tennis balls for the kids

And all the whole team who made this a huge success.

You Can find few pics in the following link.

Stay tuned for the update on the upcoming events in the year 2009.....

One More Step Forward

Vinod Kumar and Reddy Prasad, siblings, are in 10th and 9th Standards of Arogya Matha School. Its very sad to know that their father passed away recently and her mother left them and fled (for reasons known best to her). They are now staying with their grandparents.

Luckily the school management somehow came to know about our team "REVOLUTIONS" and enquired if someone from us could help them with their school fees.Hitendra, who was a old student from that school came forward to help them when he heard of this. This Saturday we went to school and paid the fees for the complete year, The kids were so happy to hear this.

Probably next week, we are planning to meet the kids one more time and decided to tell them that we will sponsor for their next year academics as well if they do well in their exams this year.

Would like to thank Hitendra who came forward to help these kids as soon as we approached.

"Our Revolutions" turns ONE today.

Hi Team,

Happy Independence day!!!

It gives us a great pleasure to mark the first anniversary of Our Revolutions with this day (August 15th). In fact our Independence week have certainly left us some emotional experience as we were able to help an accident victim in time.

A glance on the accomplishments that we had in this span of 1 year:

  • Annual tuition fees for the 10 poor school students.
  • Printer donation to Velugu school at Madanapalle.
  • Food distribution drive at Velugu school at Madanapalle.
  • School uniforms distribution to 15 students at Punganur.
  • Financial aid for medical camp which was organized by Cheyutha at Tirupathi.
  • Financial aid for Velu, an accident victim.

Needless to say that all the small contributions we made for the past one year, have added a ray of hope to the needy in different ocassions. Congratulations to every one of our team on providing a constant support and trying their best to succeed in all activities there by proving our motto "Serve the needy in all the ways we can".

A special thanks to Diwakar and Bhaskar of our team in coordinating these activities smoothly and providing an excellent chance for us in doing the same.

Well done Team. We are looking forward for continued support to run "Our Revolutions" much more efficiently.

All the Best.

Keep watching for the next post to know our upcoming events and the new team of "Our Revolutions".

Thank You and Update on the Accident Victim

Hi All,

Would like to start with a big "Thank You" note to all who responded with their contributions for Velu, given the very short notice. We feel in all ways this is THE BEST help we did although its not possible to compare various events. The reason we say best is because of the situation when we chipped in and also for the fact that the victim was (is) the sole bread earner for the entire family.

Yesterday (13-Aug-08), We met Velu & his family in the hospital and handed over the cash of Rs. 10,000 /-. He was a bit reluctant to take the amount given the fact that he takes a lot of pride in using his own money for his family. This guy, whom we have never seen crying even when he met with this accident or during the first operation where he was joking and cheering up others. But with the second fracture (Due to the unsuccessful operation ??) to his thigh he brokedown heavily and has not stopped crying for the past 3 days as he understood that he cant drive (Earn) atleast for the next six months which will be a huge blow to his family. He was also asking us about the time frame to repay the amount. We were sort of successful in making him convince him not to pay this money back and asked him to help someone with that amount through REVOLUTIONS. ( Yes, he too is a part of this REVOLUTIONS now) as and when he starts earning again.

He was very happy(to the fact that someone is helping him) to speak to some of our REVOLUTIONS members even though he never met them in person.

Will keep you all updated on his health as soon as I get to know them.

PS: We received an amount of 2700/- after we handed over the amount to Velu. So if there is some one who is in need of this money please let us know or as Aug.13 2007 was when we first paid the fee (sort of started officially) we are trying to speak to some orphanage so that we can arrange them food or clothes. Please let us know or leave a comment if there are any better ideas of using this money.

Thanks again.

Fee for Second Term, Firstyear

The Fee for the second term of the first year was paid with which we have successfully completed the first year.
Like to thank all the sponsors who made this possible and wish you will continue the same.
You will shortly receive the report cards of your students and a handwritten thankyou note for your contributions from the students.

This year we are trying to increase the number of students as much as we can. In doing so we are seeking help from few people who are trying to get us the list of the drop outs from various schools this year which also will have the reason for leaving. Using this we are trying to pick few good students so that they can continue.

Apart from the aforementioned details we are also working on few things to see if we can try them and succeed. We will keep posting all the things we do and will continue to wait for your suggestions and improvements as always.

Probably some of you who come across such students this year can write to us at ourrevolutions@gmail.com so that we can help them.

Regards,
Team Revolutions.

Luckily we keep getting chance after chance to help some one. This time its for the Engg. Students.

Cheyootha society is coming up with a Non Profit library which will help Engg. students with books as they have noticed that many of the students cant spare money for books.

We can donate our old Engg. books ( If you still hold them).so that they stay in the library and will be useful for many people.

Please let us know your views to ourrevolutions@gmail.com or contact bhaskar @ +91 98867 70051 for any suggestions or queries.

I wish this will also be a success.

We are also having a discussion on collecting and distributing old cloths, please let us know if there is some organization which is in need of old cloths so that we can work out a plan and help them.

Medical Help for students from govt school and juvenile home

This time we got a chance to help the students from govt school for boys and juvenile home in
mangalam,tpt.

We came to know this through sunil from the cheyoothasociety who got the information from dr. santhosh that several street children from that poor home suffering from skin diseases, we funded them to buy the medicines, ointments, some health oils suggested by Dr. santhosh and Dr. Narendra Ms.Ortho and helped the cheyoothasociety in a small way possible to make this camp a success.

Also like to thank kishore and Bhaskar for their donations and sunil for doing a great job constantly for so long.

You can get to know about cheyootha at http://cheyoothasociety.googlepages.com/. They deserve a special mention.

As mentioned before, please let us know if there is any problem where we can lend our help. We will discuss and let you know if we can help them in any way.

Thought for the day

Social service should not become show-cial work (!) carried out for publicity or with the camera in view. Nor should it become slow-cial(!) work. Why go slow, when you are doing good to the deserving? Do as much as you can, as quickly as you can. If you cannot do any good, at least desist from doing harm; or from finding fault with those who serve you. Know that service is a better form of sadhana (spiritual effort) than even dhyaana (meditation). How can God appreciate the meditation you do, when adjacent to you, is someone in agony, whom you do not treat kindly, for whom you do not make all efforts to help?
Hands that serve are holier than lips that pray

Republicday Event

Hi,

Good to hear that the Republicday event went on better than the actual plan.

Cant stop thanking Bhaskar and Shakeer for their time and for the way they have organized everything.

It was organized at BASAVA RAJA Govt High School, Punganur, Chittor Dist, AP.
They started off with all the packets of clothes directly to the school and were well received by the school staff with Bhaskar and Shakeer being special guests.
As Head of institution requested , Bhaskar addressed the gathering on behalf of REVOLUTIONS in inspirational way. Finally School uniforms were distributed to Fifteen student who are poor and intelligent.

Happy to see the photos although i would have been more than happy if i were a part of this very good event.

We shall come up with a similar events every month along with the progress of the registration.

Thanks all for your support.
Also like to thank Suresh who as a old student of the same school, supported REVOLUTIONS by reducing the stitching fee by great amount.

Cheers,
Diwakar

NEXT UPDATE

There was an MOU ( Memorandum of Understanding ) signed with the School and our team on 13th of August.Kishore, Bhaskar & Myslef went down to sanitorium to meet the director. This open ended MOU will be a generic one which speaks about the Legal Do's and Don'ts in our relation with the school.

Apart from this there will be a letter which will be renewed every year based on the number of students we sponsor, names of the students and the sponsors

Our plan is to roll out the same to many such schools where we get a chance to find out the deserved students.

Let us NOT just GIVE and FORGET!!

As an early step of 'The Revolutions' let us find an alternative to 'just giving something to someone assuming that it would eventually reach that someone who is in real need of what you give'. We know it was quite a complex sentence and what we are planning to do is also a little complex than just taking a small bit out of our salaries and donating to charity. We have to put in some non-obligatory responsibility to make sure that what we donate doesn't go waste. To explain, let us take the example of helping poor and bright students: Once we identify the right and deserving candidates to be helped, as Diwakar said, each one of us can take responsibility of one(or may be more) student(s) and start with helping them by paying their school fees, purchasing books, etc and then visit them without fail once in a while to keep them motivated.

Our visiting the students is in many ways very important and the reasons for that follow... This way, we would be in touch with the actual students whom we would be helping and more importantly would be very satisfied to know that what we had spent has not gone waste. This would encourage us to do what we do year after year and may be to more students. More over, this would also inspire the other students who may not have had a sponsor, to try to improve their academic performance as we would make it clear that academic performance is one of the key criteria to get a sponsor. This should result in a good positive and competitive environment among the students, which would, may be result in many of them improving themselves to ultimately lead a better life and may be even join us in helping more such deserving candidates in the future. All of this would be happening in front of us as we would be getting regular updates on the academic performances of students we all sponsor, so that we would never feel a disconnect. What more could we ask for?

Your Ideas

I welcome all of you to come forward with your ideas if any about other ways we actually could move forward.

Thanks in advance,

Team Revolutions.

Future Plans

We are starting with education to few school children who are carefully picked up ( who are in really need of a sponsor)

Each selected student will be assigned to a member of the revolutions and he/she will have the privelage to look at his/her progress and can be aware of where actually is his money going.

We are trying to start with the 2007-2008 academic year, starting with july-07. with 10 children to monitor how well we can organise this and hoping that the team grows in years to come.

Personally like to thank "Uttam" , for helping us find the Students.

The Revolutions

Atlast our dreams of starting "The Revolutions" are slowly but truly coming true.

We would like to start this with thanking all our friends who are constantly encouraging us and highly supporting us from the last two years in not loosing our motivation.

Thanking you all,
Team Revolutions.
Lets start serving in all the ways we actually could.
